Maternity Portraits
We truly enjoy capturing the before and after moments of a families fresh newborn. We begin the journey by having a pre-consultation via email with any ideas of location and colors you’d like for your maternity (Belly) session. We discuss dates around your 30-32 week of pregnancy. Then we set up an appointment about 1-2 weeks before your portrait date, where you visit us at the studio and “TRY ON” maternity gowns we have to offer for our moms to be. You can wear up to 2 gowns of your choice, one for the family portraits and another of just you alone. We encourage moms to bring their own outfits as well. We then discuss outfits for the family as well during this time.
Once the portrait session day arrives we email or text our clients with a reminder of location and the time to meet that day. We also ensure the weather is great before hair and makeup gets started, if any. Texas weather can be bipolar, sadly, so we like to wait until the morning of to make a sure decision. Reminder we love working in the wind! Once your maternity session is done we then wait until the baby arrives! YAY, this is where your due date comes in handy. We block off dates around your due date in our planner to ensure we keep openings for your newborn session.
Newborn Portraits
Once baby has arrived safely to the world and into your arms. We then will have you contact us to ensure a newborn portrait date is placed at your convenience. Again, it’s best to take these portraits within the first 2 weeks as they sleep much more and are the cuddliest. We then email you our Newborn Prep Guide for instructions on what to wear and what to expect. The newborn session is always done in our Studio in Laguna Vista at 10am. We provide everything for the baby, such as props, attire, and bonnets/bows. The newborn session last between 2-4 hours depending on how well baby does with us and how you follow the prep guide. We always try to begin with family portraits first and then move onto baby alone. We encourage dads or a family member to take a stroll across the street at our local Roloff park in front of the bay to give your oldest some room to explore as we like to keep our fresh newborn asleep.
After each session we take between 2-3 weeks for your gallery to be viewed. So at this point your maternity images have already been picked and delivered. In our Belly to Baby Bundle you receive 25 custom birth announcement cards and 20 gift prints from the newborn session. We also provide a print release form as well.
