Essential Gear with Iliasis Muniz Photography
Hola!
I wanted to share with you all what I actually carry in my camera bag to a photo shoot. Below are links, photos, and my personal review on all my camera gear.
Camera Body
First things first, I am a huge fan like many other photographers who have stayed within the Canon family. I use the Canon EOS 6D Digital SLR Camera. I also carry a backup camera which is the Canon EOS 60D. They have always been very easy to learn and have been durable. If you are just starting out and these don’t fit your price range then be sure to check out the Rebel collection from Canon. Which was the very first camera I began to learn with and they were priced for the hobbyist in you.
Lens
As for my lens I used to shoot with the Canon EF 50mm 1.8 when I first started photography. This lens was great for close up shots such as newborn or children portraits. Then I shifted later on and began to experiment with the Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art DG HSM Lens for Canon which has a special place in my heart. I enjoy this lens to photograph outdoor family shoots and studio maternity. Another wonderful up close lens is the Canon 85mm 1.8. This lens carries a gorgeous bokeh for wedding / headshots. I don’t do weddings anymore and rarely offer headshot sessions, but when I do I make sure to bust this baby out. MICRO SD CARDS
I protect and carry a black Pelican Case for all my SD cards. It is a must HAVE for your camera gear. I have also found out that the San Disk with the Ultra 64GB is the safest card you can use during any photo shoot. Personally, I am clumsy and not very good at taking care of my gear. So having the adapter and the micro SD card separately saves me time and money. If my SD card gets jammed or breaks at any moment all I have to do is take out the micro SD card and I am saved! I have experienced this a few times and let me tell you it’s not a fun place to be when you are trying to put back together a micro chip onto a small square.
Camera Bag
My camera bag has received a lot of attention since it arrived from Australia sometime last year. Kamrette is a beautiful company which creates leather camera bags in all shapes and sizes. From their own website, Lyra was designed as the perfect alternative to our Avana Handbag, allowing you the luxury of a backpack to carry your gear casually and in style. While featuring a slim line design, the Lyra backpack uses a clever concept to fit more than you might expect! I love all the zippers, pockets, and the durablity of the material. It can fit a laptop and has the slip on the back where you can add directly to your luggage. It’s a perfect camera backpack for those who constantly are traveling.
