Welcome to one of the most amazing places you could call home, South Texas. It is by far a unique place to experience, take photos, and simply relax. I moved away from the valley as they call us down South about a year ago and let me tell you something. After living in Florida for a year I realized there is simply no place like the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. I remember being a startup photographer and using all of my resources to find photo shoot locations. I drove around, Googled national parks, called multiple venues you name it I found a way to make things unique. Although finding one of a kind spots to take photos and not over using it got harder each year. It only hit me when down the line of my career other professional photographers would reach out to ask about where I took certain portraits and asked what are some of your best RGV, Texas photo shoot locations.

In fact it was the exact same place I had been taking portraits at forever. What changed you say?

Well to be brutally honest I changed and so did my mindset. I learned leaving the valley was something I personally needed to assist my growth. Moving away not only refreshed my mind, but I was able to grow out of the same routine I had created for myself for almost 16 years straight. Photographing in new locations has inspired my creativity and now as I look forward to visiting back home in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas I am ecstatic to share some of my forever best RGV, Texas photo shoot locations with you!

Keep in mind these are in random order!

1. South Padre Island, Texas – Who dosen’t love the beach? Our gorgeous island is filled with beautiful locations to photograph. Here are a few of my favorite spots. Sand dunes, SPI convention center, beach accesses along Gulf Blvd, boardwalks, Isla Blanca Park, or our stunning bay which is where the sun sets for the evening. [metaslider id=”78745″]
2. Wild August Nursery & Farm – This locally owned family farm is located at 16802 Garrett Rd Harlingen, TX 78552. 3. RGV Nature Parks and Wildlife Refuges – Nature parks are a classic go to if you are looking for big trees, open fields, and possibly fun trails to walk around. These have all been some of my top places to photograph. Harlingen Arroyo Colorado known as Hugh Ramsey park, Resaca de la Palma, SPI birding center, Quinta Mazatlan, Sabal Palm Sanctuary, Old Hidalgo Pumphouse or Mckelvey Park.
