Best Places to Photograph in Puerto Rico

Best Places to Photograph in Puerto Rico | Traveling Photographer

Series 1

First of all, thank you for arriving to my very first Travel Blog. Traveling began for me at the age of 3. Which was when I became an official military brat with the Navy. My first destination was traveling back home to my hometown Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. It’s when I first met papi and his side of the family. We quickly made it a routine to always come back home to see everyone and enjoy the beauty of where my parents created me.

The Oeste part of the island which in my opinion is the best side. I lived there from the age of 8 up to the age of 15. I remember “cojiendo pon” taking the taxi which was an old school van and only cost .35 cents per ride.  There were no airBNB’s, no Ubers, and no social media. It’s really rad to experience life in the past and still be so grateful for how much change our present currently holds.

Fast forward almost 20 years later and the West side has grown tremendously since I last there. You can see way more tourism, activities, and families visiting our Isla Del Encanto. If you are pondering, planning, or just curious about visiting Puerto Rico then let my photos convince you why you should just book your flight already!

Are you ready?

How do you get to Punta Borinquen Beach?
From Route 2 in Aguadilla, take Road 107 north. When you get to the Rafael Hernández Airport on your right, look for the end of the runway. Across from that, on your left, you’ll see a road that cuts across the golf course. Follow that road the Borinquen Beach.

What does Borinquen mean in English?
The Taínos were governed by Agüeybaná and called the island Borikén (Borinquen) – which means “Land of the Valiant and Noble Lord.”

Is Aguadilla or San Juan better?
If you are coming to puerto rico to party and go to casinos and see some colonial architecture then its a no brain-er; San Juan, because you don’t need to leave the big city. If you plan to go to the beach all the time, or to go surfing, or to go scuba diving, or Jetski with aguadilla watersports then you want to go to Aguadilla.

Is Aguadilla Puerto Rico safe?
Aguadilla is a very safe town with beautiful beaches, friendly people and excellent cuisine. Low crime rates, a well-trained police force and competent private security will keep you as safe as you are back home.
