I have so much to express about the owner of Colour Lab Hair Studio, Karla Gomez.
We have known each other from the beginning of our careers. I would have to say over a decade now since we became each other’s clients. Karla’s vibrant, contagious, and pure Honduran love is indescribable. The moment you walk into her cheerful space you feel relaxed, comfortable, and well taken care of.
She is as raw as they come. Karla is a second generation hair salon stylist here in the Rio Grande Valley. Between 1999 up until 2021 you could find her family business name as LaRue. With a ton of hard work, determination and faith in God Karla has been able to evolve her business dreams into reality.
If you are from the valley you will understand how family is key in achieving your goals. Her two strong daughters have always been by her side encouraging her the whole way. Aleksia her oldest daughter once said, “Mom, it’s ok to be a little selfish. I wish you could see what I see.” Her youngest Lucia always does a wonderful job at nurturing her heart. It shows how Karla is gifted at creating confidence, supporting energy, and loving environments in our community.
Karla’s number one motto has always been the following,

Kate Castillo, 29 years young and manager of Colour Lab Hair Studio. She takes pride in staying up to date in the hair industry and has been blessed to work along many great stylists. She specializes in Color, blow dry, highlights, balayage, haircuts, Keratin treatments, wax, and makeup.
Paola Olvera, born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She loves being surrounded by talented woman and is eager to continue growing in her career. She is passionate about assisting others to feel beautiful and confident. Paola specializes in haircuts, blowouts, hair color, highlights, balayage, and treatments.
Sandra Lopez, has been in the beauty industry since 2012. She fell in love with beauty ever since she can remember. Sandra strives everyday to be a better version of herself. She specializes in men and women haircuts, color, balayage, highlights, keratin treatments, extensions, wax, and styling. BONUS: She also provides Radio Frequency, Vacuum Therapy, Ionic Detox, Spa Facials, Spa manicure, Acrylic & Shellac Nail Tech.
Princess Michelle, the newest addition & professional to the salon. She went from watching Youtube tutorials, inspirations on Pinterest, to eventually taking the step in enrolling in Cosmo. Fast forward now, and she is doing what she loves. She specializes in cuts, color, perms, up-dos, blowouts, waxing, and more.
