Simple Outdoor Cake Smash Session

Here is a simple outdoor cake smash session for your next photo shoot!

First you dress up your little one in matching outfits with or without their sibling. These are a PARENT favorite pose which includes the oldest sibling into the photo shoot. Most of the time the oldest child feels left out during these growing moments and what is a better way to make them feel apart of the session than to involve them right in the beginning. 🙂 It also helps make the experience more comfortable for the birthday girl/boy.

Secondly bring an outfit change for the cake smash session portion. An outfit they can get lots of the cake on, because let’s face it some kids will surprise you with sweets. I’ve learned to prepare my clients doing a cake trial run at home first. That way during the photo shoot your little one will know what to do. In this simple outdoor cake smash session we used a teepee as our backdrop, our location was in one of my favorite parks at Mckelvey Park in Harlingen, Texas, and the yummy cake was from a local baker in Brownsville.
