We are now on day 4 of our County quarantine. Thankful for my space, food, and partner who’s keeping me company. I pray everyone who is reading this today are feeling safe and healthy.
I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite Prop Shops that I have purchased from over the years and a few which I have a shopping cart full with items still. I have been in the photography business for 7 years now and have seen so many vendors come and go, but the Shops below hold a special place in my heart and my wallet 😉

1. CUSTOM PHOTO PROPS – Faux Flokati Newborn Baby Vegan Fur
I LOVE their vegan fur for newborn and sitter sessions. They are uber soft and very easy to wash/ hang dry. I have multiple colors and have yet to experience a bad moment with this sweet company.
2. CBC PROP SHOP – Wooden Newborn Beds
Claudia and her husband have created a classic bed for every type of child photographer. Easy to pose in, made very sturdy, and comes in multiple distressed colors. My fave ones are the brown and off-white.
3. HSD BACKDROPS –High quality photography backdrops
I enjoy shopping at HSD Backdrops simply because their prices are great and they have such unique prints. I have a ton of different themed backdrops from this shop and truly recommend it to any photographer starting off.
4. KETAPROPS – Custom made photo props for newborns and sitters!
Recently founded by another photographer friend this newborn and sitter prop shop on Instagram is a must follow! Almost all of the prop shops mentioned today are located on Insta, so be sure to follow them. I’ll provide a link below at the end. Lourdes is a sweetheart and her handmade outfits are some of my favorite to use on my clients. Her prices are affordable and quality of workmanship and packaging hooked me from the start.
5. TYANES BABY BOUTIQUE – Outfits for girls ages 3 months – 8 years.
This is our boutique for the studio! I’ve personally owned it for a little over 3 years now, originally named Kutie Kouture Boutique. Our colorful collection of little girl clothes are always great when using for photography sessions. It’s how I ended up falling in love with it and buying the store. 🙂 We currently only sell little girl outfits from sizes 3 months – 8 years.
6. OH LOVE PROPS – Bonnets, headbands, and slouchy hats
One of my first prop shops that I became obsessed with buying from. I have a ton fo her pieces from when she first opened her business. Her prices have always been great and her work is outstanding. I love her signature slouchy hats as photographed below, because the knot is so stiff it would be very hard for anyone to break it apart. Plus it is such a unique signature on a product which always reminds me which hats are hers.
7. POLKADOTPOPPY – Newborn headbands for photographers
I recently found this unique headband shop on Instagram! She is a working mother from home who grinds continuously with her business. I enjoy her motivation and hustle she has for the creating world. 🙂 Her rates are spectacular and can’t wait to shop again soon!
8. BABY_PROPS_MARKET – Newborn props and accessories
WOW, I recently started following this shop when a fellow photographer from Jersey began to share her work on Instagram. I just won two gorgeous metal crowns in her latest Giveaway! YAY, for our studio. I can’t wait to begin ordering and using her items. Since I just received the crowns I haven’t had a chance to take photos with them, so below is an image from her website of the crowns I just won.
9. RAW EDGE SEWING CO – Highchair & Cake Smash custom banners
An oldie, but a goodie! I’ve been purchasing custom cake smash banners from this shop since I began my studio at my old house. Her attention to detail never goes unnoticed and I truly love how sharp and clean every banner arrives. Be sure to order in advance and ask to create a custom theme/colors.
10. THRIFT STORES – any local thrift store in your area
Where it all began for my props and I am sure for many other beginning photographers, the thrift store. I have been to countless thrift stores around Texas and I have to say one of my all time favorite for the past few years has to be our Friends of Animal Rescue on South Padre Island, Tx. They have always been the sweetest people to shop from and I have to say that without them in our area we would have a ton of animals on the streets struggling for shelter and food. So supporting this business is very important to Iliasis Muniz Photography. My most favorite piece I have purchased from them has to be my teal vintage couch, which I kept int the garage for almost a year before finally getting reupholstered professionally.
