You were here for a moment, but left a lifetime of love

When I first booked this maternity session I was scared to think these might be the only images I would remember my baby boy. But despite the uncertainty, I knew I wanted to honor him. This pregnancy was anything but normal. At 13 weeks, I was rushed to the hospital for appendicitis surgery. After my surgery, we were told my sac had ruptured causing baby to have no amniotic fluid to grow in. With changes of baby surviving being zero, doctors gave us the option to terminate our pregnancy. But despite the reports, we decided to continue because we believed God had the last word.

Baby boy went on to survive 13 more weeks in my womb. Doctors couldn’t understand how he kept growing. Exactly four days after this maternity session, I gave birth and baby fought his toughest fight. Unfortunately, it wasn’t God’s will to have him with us here on earth. Today, I continue to praise God because even though things didn’t end as I hoped, I know his plans are always better than mine.

Andrew Amos Castillo, my warrior carried by God, you are proof that you are never too little to make a difference in peoples hearts. Most people go a lifetime searching for their purpose in life, but you baby boy accomplished your purpose and so much more in the six and half months you were in my womb. To say I’m a proud mama is an understatement. God knew my heart needed these images to cherish for the rest of my life. They will forever tell your story sweet baby boy.
